Prince Edward Island Recircled…

Prince Edward Island is a magical place with cozy, colorful houses...

and magnificent views.

Lighthouses that aren’t lighthouses…

and lighthouse that are.

Red roads...

and some of the world’s best mussels.

There are birch trees,

meadows full of wildflowers,

and lots and lots of potato fields.

And I have barely begun tapping into the 2,000 or so photos I took while I was there.

So I hope you like visiting PEI!

I Like Leftovers…

I am still feeling a bit low but getting better each day.  But I haven’t been feeling like going too far afield to look for green stuff.  A short stroll through our yard only yielded a couple of rather pathetic looking little snowdrops that have bravely popped out of the ground.  It’s not much, but it’s a beginning.
I’m sure that any day now, all sorts of green will burst forth.

Meanwhile, I did find some leftovers from last summer…the skeletons of once living flowers, seed pods and leaves.  I think they are still worthy of study.  So I gathered them up and here they are.  Enjoy!

Nemo is here!

Well, we’ve been told that the Storm of the Century is happening today here in New England.  The prediction is that in our part of the state we will be getting from 18 to 24 inches of snow.  But if you look at the map, we may be in the 24+ area.  What can you do?  You might as well hunker down and enjoy the down time.  Mother Nature reigns supreme.

Clearly someone here is not concerned about the nefarious NEMO.

At 11:00 am, things weren't so bad.

At least we don't have to stand out in it all day like this birch tree.

I'll leave you with a pic the sunny side of my red tulips.
They don't give a hoot if it's snowing.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday...

Here are the prompts for this week's Scavenger Hunt:  sparkly, door, decorate, stripes, and a few of my favorite things.  And here is the way I see it this week:

SPARKLY didn't turn out as I expected.   This little bird looked pretty sparkly to me when I had him in the house but I think it was just too bright out for him to sparkle much.  Too much competition from the sun.  Still I like him so here he is:

DOOR.  Here's our front door with the wreath I have thrown on there for the last few years.  This wreath has held up like iron.  I like the contrast of the black and red.  That's fake snow, by the way.  I just think it looks a little more festive with the snow.

DECORATE:  I had to go to a meeting the other night and decided to go down to our Town Common to look at the tree that they decorate and light up each year.  I like the plaid effect.

STRIPES:  Natural striping on a birch tree.

A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS:
