SNOW!!!
But you know I can't stop at one word...
I took this photo on the 11th. Those tracks are loooong gone by now. They are well buried under another 8 or so inches of snow.
Seems like apple season is a very long way away.
We've been wondering if we need to get our roof scraped. I think if this structure can hold up, maybe our roof is safe.
The Dark-eyed Juncos fly south every year to be a part of our winter. I'm not sure they really bargained for what they got this year. But this little fellow looks pretty content.
The juncos are ground feeders and they leave tracks all over our covered porch when the wind blows the snow in. I like them.
Here's my Buddha in his winter home. He's supposed to stay warm and dry there, but this year he didn't stand a chance. I think he has the right idea about how to handle a winter like this though.
We need to just keep calm and carry on. I'm sure a little meditation couldn't hurt.

adorable junco! i don't envy you all the white stuff. you can keep it! :)
Yikes, that is a terrific amount of snow! I do hope your roof withstands the weight. The Junco tracks are so adorable.
Love the tracks in the snow....awesome photo!!
I love the little Juncos! We have been entertaining the Buntings again also. I think we will all remember this winter...beautiful photos!
i love the wheel and bird tracks. so so cool in the snow. i love snow. we are having snow finally. hope every one does stay save and sound. ( :
Beautiful! I love the junco photo! That's awesome!
Goodness you all have been blasted this winter. Makes me nearly ashamed to say anything about the silly 10 inches that came our way today (errr, heading in your directions I'm afraid). Love the bird prints and good call on perhaps meditation. Do be careful with the load on the roof - I was much relieved when Allyson said she could hear them clearing the roofs at Wellesley the other day.
the junco tracks are just amazing!! looks like they have been checking in with buddha as well!!
we are getting more tonight and tomorrow, i think you will be also. i don't mind the snow because i am always at home. be safe and try to stay warm, it's been downright frigid here!!!
I would have like to have one good snow, but guess I had rather have the year we are having as that some are getting. There can be too much of a good thing.
Very nice pictures of snow, especially with a bird. Regards.
Yes, I do miss being able to see and take photos of the juncos. When we did get snow (not often) on the VA eastern shore, these little guys would flock to the feeders and leave their snow tracks. And, as much as we are enjoying this NE winter weather, we would like a little less snow...a little less often!
wonderful snowy scenes...i want to get out and see what it looks like around here but it is just so cold...have to run up to food lion and get a movie from the redbox in a little bit...that will be my big excursion haha...cute little tracks!
Snowy Buddha, snowy apples... unseen! cool shots!

Definitely feeling guilty about the relatively mild winter over here...Love that first picture. Stay safe.
Little Junco is super adorable! And yes, I'll be a little meditation would indeed help. I practice a little every day. It helps me through the grey Oregon winter months. And i was just thinking, those little Junco footprints are pretty darned cute too!
