As we left the cabin we called home for a week,
we motored past the kudzu-covered silos that we passed every day that week on our way out of the neighborhood. We drove down through
Cherokee, North Carolina to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The vistas were marvelous and it didn’t take
very long for us to realize that the Great Smoky Mountains are called the Great
Smoky Mountains for a reason.
After a while, we got on the interstate and
headed for home. It was a wonderful week
with good friends in a very beautiful part of this country.
Can’t complain!

sure is beautiful!
Gorgeous, you sure do have a way of making everything more beautiful!!
We had similar feelings when we saw the Blue Ridge and marveled out the coloration. (By the way, Barbara, we visited Sturbridge Village and walked our way all around on a very humid day, Tuesday. Norman Rockwell Museum was great to see today.)
You were near where I grew up...I still consider Tennessee home! These views sure make me want to go home.
I love the Blue Ridge. It is so pretty in Autumn, it makes me cry.
What a treat these photos are. I'm loving the first and the last shots very much.
those mountains are amazing and i know kudzu is killer vine but it is beautiful on those old silos.
Wow, this is an incredible place.
Nature's palace!
Wow, gorgeous scenes along the way through the Great Smokies. What a wonderful trip you had!
Such a gorgeous landscape!
Wow! Nos 2 and 3 were particularly evocative.
Awesome views, Barbara, which goes to show that nature puts on a great display all the time.
