Magnolia Season…

Looking out the window this morning, I realized that it won’t be long before all of our magnolia blossoms will be lying on the ground becoming one with the lawn.  Every spring I look forward to those lush flowers, but they are so fleeting.  I always try to go out with my camera and see if I can save them…at least on my hard drive.  Here are the ones I am keeping around for the rest of this year.

So very beautiful. That last one is really special. I wish these blooms lasted longer also. Thank goodness for photography!

Hi Barbara!
I agree...so beautiful and yet so fleeting!
My daughter has a HUGE Magnolia...and all it takes is a few windy days...and POOF...gone!
That last one actually looks like a tiny pine cone in the centre!
Beautiful!
Enjoy your meal out!
Cheers!
Linda :o)

Magnolia blossoms are so beautiful and it's really sad that they don't last so long. Our magnolias are long gone - they started flowering in December. They are spectacular when in bloom.

These are really beautiful Barb. We don't have many magnolia trees up here but since our winters are supposedly milder they do survive in our climate now.

The magnolia blooms are lovely and so large. In years past, I would photograph them in a neighbor's yard, but then their tree was blown down in a storm and my photo subject was no more. Thanks for sharing your photos, Barbara.

Woman, what are you doing these pictures? Barbara, you have your own style and that is something sensational.

Magnolia is a beautiful flower but as you will say, 'He's so soon bloomed again. However beautiful photos in various stages :-)

You just made me realize I have not seen any in bloom around here...at all! I wonder if the hard winter did something to them!

These are so pretty - especially that last one. Why is it that so many beautiful flowers come and go so quickly?
