Good PEI Fences...

“When weeds go to heaven, I suppose they will be flowers.”
~ L.M. Montgomery, The Story Girl

Finding the cottage we rented on Prince Edward Island was a bit of a challenge.  The cottage was located down a red dirt road.  On one side of the road was a field that was fenced in.  Inside the fence was a profusion of wildflowers, in particular Queen Anne’s Lace.   If you follow this blog, you know that I love Queen Anne’s Lace.  Okay, I know it’s a weed, but it’s a beautiful, graceful weed.  And seeing a field loaded with it is just breathtaking.  It may have been my favorite thing about the house we rented…even with the baby eagle and the gorgeous views.  I took a gazillion and one photos of the Queen and you will probably see a lot more of her on this blog, but for today, here are a few that feature the nice rustic fence that was holding her back.

Happy to be linking up with Theresa's

It is beautiful. Nothing beats a rustic old fence surrounded by Queen Anne's Lace flowers.

Oh those flowers are awesome! I agree with #2 pix. Love it.
The fence as well and the Queen Ann's lace behind.

The moose are out about Sept. Oct.

They love water as he was ending down to the water and into the Lillie
pads.

They come out alright. When they do. They stand 10 feet and they wont let you pass by. So your lucky girl. I wouldn't complain. Ha-ha.

Look at swamp scenery. They love it. They walk in that.

And the signs. Just not your timing. A neighbor a deer hit her car. Her car was a right off.

Now if the moose did that to you. That would be horrid.

Excellent as always. I love the old rotted fence posts against the delicate flower!

Awesome shots- the Queen Anne's Lace is a pretty flower and is a lovely background for your fence shots.

I think the barbed wire is holding up that one fence post. Great shot. Thank you for visiting my Girl in the Cornfield Good Fence.

If these are anything to go by, then I say bring them on! I swear I cannot pick a favorite. I thought I was leaning towards the last, but then I look at the others and just cannot decide for sure.

Gracious - what a beautiful view, especially that shot with the Queens Ann Lace bokeh. Nice! (too pretty to be a weed, I put it in the category of wild flower).

Great shots. Someone told me once that a weed is simply a plant in a place you don't want it to be; and that makes sense to me.

The Queen Anne's Lace is beautiful!! Makes a great backdrop for the fence!

I find it hard to call Queen Anne's lace a weed too...unless it's in my garden! I do love to see a field of ot in full bloom.
