Never say "oops..."

The world famous philosopher, Author Unknown, once said, “Never say ‘oops.’
Always say, ‘Ah, interesting.’”

If you have been following this blog for the last month or so, you might remember that I am taking a basic digital photography class. In this class, we are encouraged never to fall back on the automatic settings on our camera but to assess the situation we find ourselves in and to manually adjust the camera to meet our needs…like in the old days.

While I have actually found this to be oddly liberating, I am just not an SOOC (straight out of camera) type photographer and have made many mistakes.  For the class, the only adjustment we are supposed to do is basic cropping so most of my mistakes have gone in the digital garbage can on my computer.

But I can’t resist messing around with my photos, so I have saved a few for experimentation.  I have found over my digital years that it can be really fun to try to make something good (or at least interesting) out of a bad photo.  Thanks to the photo altering software I have on my computer, some of the really bad photos I have taken have been saved.
 Amen and Alleluia!

So, long story short, I have challenged myself this week to pick out of few really (ahem) crappy photos and have worked on them until I actually like what I see.  Here, they are….
”ah, interesting!”

A Little Bowl of the Blues...
Spring Ghosts...
How Should I Presume?

You have turned these into Works of Art. How about printing them out, framing them and hanging them at the guild?
