I found this week’s prompts for Ashley Sisk’sScavenger Hunt Sunday particularly challenging this week. Well, cookies
were easy and it gave me an opportunity to do something I haven’t done in
months, which is bake. Other than that
the prompts were: #5, Word of the Day,
Sharing, Wiggle and, of course, Cookies.
Here’s what I came up with…
#5: I wracked my brain to think of something around here that had the #5 on it with no success. So I gathered up five books that I like and took a photo of them. I also put five stones on top of the five books. Why...I don't know.
Word of the Day: I took this word from Dictionary.com. I like checking the Word of the Day on there when I remember. Usually it's a word that I would never use because I can't remember it five minutes after looking at it, but I enjoy the practice anyhow. Of course it's up to you to decide whether or not I interpreted bibelot properly.
Sharing: I made cookies for this Hunt and there were plenty to share.
Wiggle: I had nothing for this until Greg got a plate of spaghetti for lunch the other day. Spaghetti wiggles, doesn't it?
Cookies: An excuse to make my very favorite kind of cookie - the plain, old fashioned oatmeal cookie with lots of nuts. They may not be much to look at, but they sure tasted good. I wish I could have shared them with you.
By the way, this is what it looked like outside while I was baking those cookies.
We ended up with close to 20 inches of snow when they had predicted 8 inches. I can tell you that there is a BIG difference between 20 and 8 when it comes to snow. But that was Friday. After two gorgeous days, the snow pack is less than half of what it was. Spring is on its way.

i like the stack of books, and the stones on top are bibelot, never heard the word before, but per your pug pic, the stones could be that to. and of course Olive is perfect.
Thanks, Sandra. I think Olive is pretty perfect myself. Of course, she has her days...
Mmm cookies. I love oatmeal cookies and what a great day to be inside making them.
sweet olive. you made me hungry for spaghetti! (we won't mention the cookies...)
Did you happen to notice that your first book in the stack has the word "Five" on it!
Word of the day...Cutie is what I would say.
Those cookies do look yummy and what better way to spend a snowy day.
Bibelot is not a word that comes up often in casual conversation so it is quite a coincidence that we both used it this week. We must have some sort of connection - kindred spirits at least. spaghetti for wiggle was an excellent choice. Well done!
Spaghetti for Wiggle...great idea! Looks like it was a perfect day to bake AND eat cookies.
That's a LOT of snow all at once. Nasty surprise. I like snow when there's not quite so much. ;)
I found this week's prompts difficult this week too so I didn't play. Next week I'll be back though.
interesting books... i know exactly what you mean by not remembering 5 minutes after looking at something, i'm about to start taking Ginkgo biloba for that very problem & i'm only 42! *gasp =0 i'm having trouble retaining info i read & it's terribly annoying!
you are the second person who mentioned the same WORD of the DAY. where do you go to find that? Oh my... so much snow. Can't believe it. Do you have to shovel snow to get to your car?
I went to dictionary.com. I have an app for my Droid. It's fun. They have word trends, Spanish Word of the Day etc. I've learned a few new words on there.
Yep, they were way off on our snow prediction as well -- they said 3-4 and I think we got about 10!
Yummy-looking cookies. :)
well my eyes were drooling over that pasta and cookies haha
and olive she's as cute as ever
Cookies and spaghetti and Olive, a perfect combination!! PS...did you notice that the top book of your stack had the word "five" on it??
Oh my gosh, everything looks so good!
Awesome shots and now I'm hungry! LOL! The cookies look fantastic!
I think you did a very good job with the prompts and those cookies look healthy and tasty. The snow - not so appealing.
Enjoyed your scavenger hunt photos.
I get a word a day in my email..like you, I can't remember most of them 5 minutes after I read them but enjoy it. and it is fun when every now and then there is a word I actually recognize and know how to use.
